Black Mambas
I was prepared to write about the Grammy's red carpet today, but tragedy has struck the nation. Kobe Bryant, legend, died this morning in a helicopter crash. Our hearts break further when we learned his 13 year old daughter, Gianna, was a passenger as well. My heart goes out to Vanessa Bryant because she lost her heart and soul today.
I never was any good at basketball nor had a desire to play, but I loved to watch. It was a huge part of bonding with my dad while watching the game. Kobe continuously changed the game with his drive and heart. I had just talked about in my previous post, celebrating my Kobe year.
Now I really have to make this year my best year ever. We cry for the loss of lives, but we have to use this as motivation to keep striving for our greatness. I pray for the NBA players, street ballers, and kid dreamers who lost their superman.
Gianna, babygirl, you were taken too soon and were set to be legendary like your dad. Keep getting buckets up there. We didn't know the ending was so close, but basketball was Kobe's first love. He retired and his life ended.
"I pretty much done all I can here and, you know, God will carry me the rest of the way, so I'm pretty comfortable with that." - Kobe Bryant
Rest in power, Legends Kobe and Gianna Bryant.
