Black-Owned Swimwear

Summer is here and here's how you can peacefully protest poolside. I've been supporting Black-owned businesses because duh I'm Black, but for some of y'all it's new. These are some of my favorite Black-owned swimwear brands!

They range from high-end to budget friendly and one of the extra pros is that all of these brands are curvy girl friendly. If you want to show lots of skin or cover your goodies, I hope you find something to rock poolside this year. Don't spend your hard earned coin with those non-inclusive billion dollar companies. Invest in us, brands who represent the values you hold dear.

Asherah

Asherah is not for the innocent. This brand is very sexy with cutouts and thong backs leaving little to the imagination. Perfect for photos but beware of the tan lines! Asherah has been seen on celebs like Angela Simmons, Christina Milian, Jilly Anais and many more. The Creative Director and designer is Cheryl "Cejae" Jones.

Check them out on instagram @asherahswimwear. www.asherahswimwear.com

B FYNE

B Fyne was created and is designed by Buki Ade. Her designs reflect her Nigerian heritage with the bold colors and cultural prints. B Fyne [pronounced Be Fine] has been featured in Vogue, Glamour, and Sports Illustrated. It's a favorite among celebrities such as Jackie Aina. Be proud and look like a queen in B Fyne!

Melissa Simone

Melissa Simone is new to me, but I'm so glad I came across this brand. I'm in love with the tropical colors and feather print details. As you can see, Melissa is easily becoming a favorite among the young celebs. Sexy and chic! Not to brag. I'm just excited for my package, but I ordered 'Elle' from the Elysian collection (pictured on Bella). Swimwear is self care and I need to protect my mental lol!

Mint-Swim

Founded and designed by Draya Michele. I own many swimsuits and I'm impatiently waiting for the new pieces dropping this week. Draya designs for curvy queens, maternity, and even kids. Who doesn't want a matching swimsuit with their daughter?! Celebrities like Zendaya and Selena Gomez are repeat customers. There's even a collab collection with Kylie Jenner.

Riot Swim

Riot Swim reminds me of a more affordable and fun Myra Swim. The fabric hugs your body and is buttery smooth. Riot Swim is founded by Monti Landers and has been featured in Elle, Harper's Bazaar and Maxim. This brand is for my classy ladies who want to the sexy, cool in a minimalist design.

Lost Effects

Lost Effects is a streetwear line founded by Marzey in 2017. Lost Effects is known for the signature butterfly on all the clothing, which represents life and metamorphosis. I love the psychedelic colors of his designs and androgynous capabilities. This is the first swimwear collection from Lost Effects and pre-orders are going on now. I copped that teeny kini real quick! I want to see all these pieces poolside!

Ashanti Swim

I'm taking you to Ghana for the last one. Yasmeen Opare uses traditional Kente prints on her swimsuits. The matching coverups and robes just adds the extra wow factor. Cardi B rocked head to toe Ashanti on her trip to Ghana and Gabrielle Union opted for the same head to toe look poolside with her baby girl. Ashanti Swim is based in the UK but ships internationally, so fill up your carts ladies.
