Let's Get It Om
I used to go to yoga all the time in high school. I really only went to hang out with my friends and didn't really understand what yoga could be in my life.
Recently, I've gotten back into it but with a whole new mindset. I go every Saturday to end my week and start a new week replinished.
I go to church on Sundays and attend a different kind of church on Saturdays. Yoga has increased my flexibility and calmed my spirit. I noticed when negative energy, i.e. stress, is upon me, I start to breathe and relax my thoughts.
I'm loving how the various positions force me to push past my physical and emotional pain. The dripping sweat is a literal detox of all the crap in your life.
I'll never forget my first spiritual awakening in Shavasana. This is the easiest yoga pose because you lie flat on your back with the palms on your hands facing the ceiling. It's usually performed at the end of class to relax your muscles and allow you to meditate.
I was doing just that when I suddenly couldn't move my body. Normally, I'd panic but it just felt right. My eyes were closed but I began to see these beautiful bursts of color. Reds. Oranges. Yellows. I don't know how long I was laying on the floor, but I was in complete peace with myself and no consciousness of my surroundings. Every time I'm in Shavasana, I'm hoping I see the colors again.
My soul honors your soul. I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides. I honor the light, love, truth, beauty & peace within you, because it is also within me. In sharing these things we are united, we are the same, we are one.
